Enrollment Projection Schedule
Current Year Spring Prediction Update
Target Date: Mid-October (Five working days after submission of the Fall SDCF Preliminary File to the BOG*) if needed or Mid-November when retention data becomes available.
Purpose: Provide an updated prediction for Spring of this academic year
Official Data Files Used: Previous Spring SDCF Final File, Summer Admissions File, Summer SDCF Final File, Fall Admissions File, Fall SDCF Preliminary File
Other Inputs: SDES and Graduate Studies to provide updated estimates of new students.
Initial Following Year Prediction Update (Official Annual Update of All Data)
Target Date: Mid-November
Purpose: Check previous year's actuals and a complete update of all inputs for the coming academic year. Provide initial enrollment predictions for the coming academic year and updates to extended predictions.
Official Data Files Used: Spring (year-2) SDCF Final File; Summer and Fall (year-1) SDCF Final File; Summer, Fall, and Spring (year-1) Admissions Files; Retention File
Other Inputs: SDES and Graduate Studies to provide updated estimates of new students.
Following Year/Extended Prediction Second Update
Target Date: First week of March (Five working days after submission of the Spring SDCF Preliminary File to the BOE)
Purpose: Update final fall and preliminary spring data on the current academic year in order to update the coming year's predictions and extended year predictions
Official Data Files Used: Fall SDCF Final File, Spring Admissions File, Spring SDCF Preliminary File
Other Inputs: SDES and Graduate Studies to provide updated estimates of new students.
Following Year/Extended Prediction Third Update
Target Date: Second Week of June (Five working days after submission of the Spring SDCF Preliminary File to the BOE)
Purpose: Update final spring data on the current academic year in order to update the coming year's predictions and extended year predictions
Official Data Files Used: Spring SDCF Final File
Other Inputs: SDES and Graduate Studies to provide updated estimates of new students.
Additional Updates
Additional updates can be done after the end of add/drop for Fall, Spring, or Summer B as needed. However, caution should be used because this is before any drop for nonpayment.
Additional updates can be done any time that new student estimates are provided.
Degree Plan Updates
Target Date: Mid-February
Action: Distribute enrollment and degree projections by program and by level to the colleges for their review
Targeted Date: Early May
Action: Receive modifications back from colleges and summarize. The degree plan will be due to the state in June.
